Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 30, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Dranic (“we”, “us”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you use Slate (the “Service”) at slate.dranic.com. By using the Service you agree to the practices described here. The Service is operated from Sri Lanka.
We keep things minimal: we only collect what we need to run the editor, save your work, and improve the product.
Information we collect
- Account information. When you sign in we store your email address. If you sign in with Google, we receive your email and basic profile identifier from Google’s OAuth service. We do not store passwords — authentication is by magic link or Google.
- Your designs. The screenshots, text, colors, layouts, and images you create or upload are saved to your account so you can return to them across devices.
- Uploaded images. Images you add to a design are stored in our file storage and served via the editor and the exported files.
- Usage analytics. We collect anonymized product-usage events (for example, which features are used and when an export runs) to understand and improve the Service.
- Technical data. Standard server and request logs (such as IP address, browser type, and timestamps) generated automatically when you use the Service.
How we use your information
- To provide the editor and save, load, and export your designs.
- To authenticate you and keep your account secure.
- To send you the transactional emails the Service requires (such as your sign-in magic link).
- To understand usage, fix bugs, and improve features.
- To protect against abuse, fraud, and security threats.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your designs to train AI models.
Service providers (data processors)
We rely on a small number of trusted providers to operate the Service. They process data on our behalf:
- Supabase — authentication, database (your account and designs), and file storage for uploaded images.
- Vercel — application hosting and serverless functions (including the export renderer).
- PostHog — privacy-conscious product analytics.
- Our email provider — delivery of transactional emails such as magic-link sign-ins.
- Google — only if you choose to sign in with Google (OAuth).
These providers may store and process data outside Sri Lanka, including in the United States and the European Union.
Data retention
We keep your account information and designs for as long as your account is active. You can delete individual uploaded images from within the editor, and you can delete your entire account at any time (see below). Anonymized analytics may be retained in aggregate.
Your rights & account deletion
You can delete your account at any time from the account menu in the app (your avatar in the top-right → Delete account). Deleting your account permanently and irreversibly removes:
- Your profile and email on record;
- All of your saved designs (projects); and
- All images you uploaded to your account.
This action cannot be undone. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to access, correct, or export your personal data. To exercise any of these rights, or if you need help deleting your data, contact us at andrew@dranic.com.
Security
We use reputable infrastructure providers and access controls (including database row-level security scoping your data to your account) to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to safeguard your data.
Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Material changes will be communicated through the Service.
